About Me

My name is Kate Parker and I am so excited to be back at World Compass Academy this year! I am the gifted facilitator and focusing on meeting the needs of our gifted students as well as developing enrichment opportunities for all of our students.  

I moved from Pennsylvania in 2015 ago and I am so happy to call Castle Rock home.  I share my life with my husband, son, dog and two Maine Coon cats.  While we moved here from the Pittsburgh area, I spent half of my childhood in central Pennsylvania and the other half near Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  In addition, I was lucky enough to live in Graz, Austria for two years and attend kindergarten there.  All of these amazing life experiences and the ability to see the education system in different cultures has helped to shape who I am as an educator.  

My teaching background has been varied giving me a lot of great experiences I wouldn't have otherwise had which helped me find my true passion working with gifted students.  I have taught pre-school, 4th grade, 6th grade, and supported gifted instruction K-8. I love being able to inspire students on a daily basis and challenging them to achieve new heights.  I also very much enjoy the inspiration the students provide me with, I am constantly learning new things from them!
