DCSD Personalized Learning Mission: Personalized Learning serves to provide student-focused programming that meets the unique needs of all learners.

 

 

What does this mean at WCA?

 

 

At World Compass Academy, we strive to meet the needs of each individual student and help them to achieve new heights.  Due to the personalized nature, gifted programming may look different for each student using the following framework:

 

Tier 1 Interventions:

  • In class differentiation
  • Ability grouping within the grade level
  • Participation in academic competitions (Grades 4-8)
  • Utilization of the Schoolwide Cluster Grouping Model (Brulles, D.)
 
Tier 2 Interventions:
  •  Ability grouping between grade levels
  • Push-in classroom support from the Gifted Facilitator
  • Enrichment/differentiation support via materials provided by the Gifted Facilitator
 
Tier 3 Interventions:
  • Pull out interventions and/or instruction
