Frequently Asked Questions

Does World Compass Academy offer Special Education (SPED) services?
Yes. World Compass Academy offers SPED services for children with Mild/Moderate needs.

Does World Compass Academy have admission policies? Can they "pick" who attends?
Charter schools are public schools and cannot “choose” which students attend. Like other public schools, charter schools are nonsectarian and nondiscriminatory in admission and employment practices. World Compass Academy uses the DCSD Open Enrollment process to enroll students.

How is World Compass Academy held accountable to state educational standards?
Public charter schools are required to meet all state and federal education standards, just like traditional public schools. In addition, they are judged on how well they meet student achievement goals established by their charter contracts. A quality public charter school must meet rigorous academic, financial, and managerial standards. World Compass Academy is no exception and will exceed the state and federal education standards.

A second attempt to reach parents will be made 15 minutes later. If after the second attempt, no responsible party is reachable, law enforcement and/or the Department of Human Services will be called.
