Teacher Bio

Welcome to 2nd Grade! My name is Heather Denison and I am so excited to be teaching second grade at WCA this year!

 

All About Me!

I graduated with a B.A. in Mass Communication and a minor in English Literature in 2008. After graduation, I immediately began substitute teaching in a private school in Pasadena, CA. I loved it SO much, I decided to pivot (a reference for all you Friends fans out there) and go into full-time education. I earned my M.A. in Elementary Education from Whittier College in 2011. This is my eighth year of teaching at the elementary level, and I have also taught Pre-K and Middle School English. 

 

I have two precious children of my own. My son, Mason, is a second grader this year, too! My daughter, Zelle, is in Junior Kindergarten this year. Both of my kids attend schools in Douglas County, and I'm sure you'll see them pop in and visit from time to time.

 

In my free time, I enjoy reading, skiing, and going on mini adventures with my kids. I am a Disney fanatic and LOVE Disneyland!
