You wanna be a mighty king?

We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic performers who want to laugh in the face of danger and walk on the wild side with Ms. Abshire and Mrs. Shaffer. Students in grades Kindergarten through 4th are welcome to audition for any roles, so check out the character list and see what might be the part for you! Feel free to audition WITH your friends because we need some wiiiiiild chemistry for some of our most colorful characters.

Audition Information
  • Audition Packet (3 parts)
    • Dance Audition - Watch the Performance Track of "He Lives in You" linked here for inspiration for your dancing audition. I will ask you to perform a few dance moves from this video to the music to see your musicality and ability to replicate choreography quickly.
    • Vocal Audition - Be prepared to sing "He Lives in You" solo parts (not the background vocals) up to 2:00 (the end of the first chorus and before Mufasa's lines). This link is to the song WITH lyrics displayed.
    • Acting Audition - Print your script and practice one of the listed parts. You can audition alone or in a small group! You can audition as one of the listed characters, even if you would prefer a different part. This is just to see what your acting skills are like. HAM IT UP! Overdo your part so we can see ALL your spectacular-ness!

  • Tips to Nail Your Audition:
    • While you don't have to memorize your script, it definitely helps us get a good idea of who can manage memorizing more lines, which means you might be a good candidate for a larger part.
    • Sing with passion! We like to hear that you can improvise if needed, so don't worry if you don't hit every note perfectly.
    • Get in touch with your wild side! There are no human characters in this story, so imagine how the animal you're pretending to be would cat. I mean, ACT!
    • Practice your audition. We love our improvisers, but we also want to see if you have the dedication to really put in the effort to memorize your part and follow directions.
