About Me

Hi! My name is Neana Lueck, and I am incredibly excited to start my fourth year with the WCA family and my second year as a WCA Assistant Principal! I previously taught English-Language Arts in the DCSD public schools in Parker, and have been part of the DCSD family for nearly a decade. I genuinely love the multiple layers of literacy. It provides me the greatest joy when a learner lights up because something "clicked" while reading, writing, or during a discussion. Watching students’ enthusiasm when becoming successful readers and writers is priceless! In addition to my role at WCA, I dedicate time with the Colorado Language Arts Society (CLAS) and am proud to serve as Vice-President board member.

Outside school, I love traveling and creating memories with my husband and our three children; though our kids are becoming older! Our oldest son, Jack is in the Army, however, we are so fortunate that he has been stationed close to us -- down in Ft. Carson. Our middle son, Carson, is enrolled in college working on his Gaming and Computer Animation Arts degree. Our youngest, Kennedy, is beginning her junior year at Metropolitan State University of Denver as a Psychology major. As a family, we stay active; however, when there is downtime, you will find me either in the gym, reading, writing short stories, or cuddling up with our two dogs, Lyra and Maizy.

I don't remember a day in my life where I wasn't thinking about writing practices or talking about the trending novel! In fact, I wrote my first short story when I was in the third grade! I followed my passion for writing and literature and graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a B.A. in English and a minor in Education, and my M.D.Ed. in Literacy, specializing in Reading and Writing through the University of Colorado - Denver.

I believe that great achievements come with hard work, and I strive to have the teachers and students I work with set realistic goals and conquer each one with great confidence.
