Teacher Bio/Biografia de la Maestra

Hello! I'm Marlyn Seda, and welcome to my classroom!

I’m delighted to return to World Compass Academy for another year of joy, growth, and meaningful learning. For the 2026–2027 school year, I will continue teaching K–1 Spanish Immersion and am excited to continue this special journey with our youngest learners.

I hold a Master’s degree in Public Administration and bring a strong background in early childhood education. Before moving to Colorado, I worked with the Early Learning Coalition of Seminole in Florida, where I led teams across multiple campuses and supported efforts to provide children with a strong educational foundation. My passion has always been creating engaging, supportive learning experiences that help children grow and thrive.

I believe the early years are an ideal time for children to experience Spanish immersion. Learning in two languages strengthens communication and listening skills while encouraging flexible thinking, problem-solving, confidence, and perseverance. Through songs, stories, movement, play, and meaningful classroom experiences, students develop Spanish naturally while building a foundation for bilingualism and biliteracy. To me, Spanish immersion is about more than learning a language; it is about nurturing confident communicators, curious learners, and culturally aware individuals.

Originally from Puerto Rico, I lived in Central Florida for 26 years before moving to Castle Rock in 2023. While in Florida, I was actively involved in community initiatives, including the Legacy Project with Leadership Seminole. Building meaningful connections with others remains very important to me, and I am grateful to be part of the Castle Rock and WCA communities.

In my classroom, I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels seen, supported, and excited to learn. I believe children learn best when they feel safe, valued, and encouraged to take risks. My goal is to make learning joyful, meaningful, and memorable while celebrating the unique strengths each child brings to our classroom.

I look forward to another wonderful year of learning, laughter, and growth with our K–1 students and families. ¡Vamos a aprender, crecer y disfrutar juntos!
