Video Production & Yearbook Elective

Students in this class will gain skills in broadcasting, interviewing, recording, filming, lighting, photography, editing, and copywriting. Students will learn how to use a green screen, how to create custom backgrounds and images while producing a creative, innovative weekly broadcast video and a school yearbook. 

CLASS PROJECTS:

• WCA Weekly Video Announcements. Our video announcements run almost every week throughout the school year. These videos are broadcast throughout the school in all classrooms. Student groups will record and edit their own videos, interview staff and students, and produce a fun and exciting weekly video. Although weekly announcement videos cannot be shared outside of our school, these videos are shared in our Google Classroom. Parents can view these videos by logging on with their students at home to view and watch all the amazing videos they will produce.
• WCA School Yearbook. From theme design, to which photos to use, to the page layouts, students will collaborate to create our school’s amazing yearbook. Any photos taken of activities, such as sports and school performances, can be shared with our class by emailing them to [email protected]. 
• 8th Grade Continuation Video. This fun project is one of the most memorable projects for our 8th grade students. Students will interview students and teachers, choose music and create the end of their middle school video to be played at continuation.
• Other various video and photo projects.
