MATH
  • Monday -  -Quiz on Fractions Broncos Test 
  • Test Review Avalanche and Rockies
  • Tuesday  - Test Avalanche and Rockies
  • Test Review Broncos
  • Wednesday  - Test Broncos 
  • Avalanche and Rockies Begin Chapter 9, Area and Perimeter and practice division
  • Thursday -Broncos - begin Chapter 9, Area and Perimeter and practice multiplication
  • Avalanche and Rockies continue area and perimeter
  • Friday - All groups will continue with area and perimeter
 
 
  • In writing students will practice test-taking skills in preparation for CMAS.  They will also write a fictional story using one of the 100 Days of School prompts (ex: in 100 years the world will be....in 100 years I will be.....)
  • In grammar students will review the five parts of speech, and write sentences with the five parts of speech. (nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs). Students will also practice their keyboarding  skills to help with their typing essays on CMAS.

  • Tuesday  - Use square meters and square feet to find area

  • Monday: students will take a multiple choice quiz on math vocabulary ; students will also learn about: parallel lines, perpendicular lines, intersecting lines and vertices
  • Tuesday: students will learn about the attributes of different polygons such as: a triangle, square, pentagon, hexagon, octagon, heptagon, nonagon and decagon. 
  • Wednesday and Thursday: students will learn about the different types of quadrilaterals such as: rhombus, trapezoid, parallelogram and rectangle.
  • Friday: Students will review all the material learned this week about shapes, angles, lines and plane figures.

In the third grade homerooms:

1.In writing, students will finish writing narratives  about The Big Game  and pretend they are reporters.  They will also continue to practice test-taking skills in preparation for CMAS by responding to a prompt as if they were a reporter. 
2. In grammar students will review the five parts of speech, and write sentences with the five parts of speech. (nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs). Students will also practice their keyboarding  skills to help with their typing essays on CMAS

  • Tuesday: Students will review all the material learned this week about shapes, angles, lines and plane figures.

  • Wednesday: Students will learn how to convert liters to milliliters and milliliters to liters. 
  • Thursday - Students will continue to practice conversions within the metric system
  • Friday: In-class CMAS Practice

In the third grade homerooms:

  1. In writing, students will analyze mentor texts to learn about the work of other writers. Students will identify different features and elements writers use in each genre. 
2. In grammar students will review the five parts of speech, and write sentences with the five parts of speech.
(nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs). Students will also identify errors in sentences and make
corrections Students will also practice their keyboarding  skills to help with typing essays on CMAS

Math:  Mrs. Campbell 

  • Monday: Students will take a paper practice CMAS test as a whole class
  • Tuesday: Students will practice how to explain their thinking and learn how to write a response to  CMAS math questions,
  • Wednesday to Friday: Students will  learn how to use the functions and tools on the computer based CMAS test and take three computer based CMAS  practice tests.
 
In writing, students will practice writing CMAS responses and scoring them.  In grammar students will complete handwriting and practice their keyboarding  skills to help with their typing essays on CMAS.
