It's how you live life when no one is looking.
I'm excited to celebrate my 10th year at World Compass Academy! Over the past eight years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching first grade and kindergarten, and for the last two years, I’ve been dedicated to my role as a reading interventionist. My journey in education has included teaching various grade levels and working with students with dyslexia even before joining WCA during its inaugural year.
Helping students become better readers and discover books that spark their interest is truly fulfilling. I earned my national certification as a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) in 2009, where I provided systematic instruction for students with dyslexia in grades 1-8. I am also certified in the Multisensory Teaching Approach (MTA) and the Take Flight curriculum through Scottish Rite Hospital. I’m thrilled to expand my “reading toolkit” with the addition of the BUILD curriculum certification from Scottish Rite, which will enhance my ability to support students in improving their reading skills. Additionally, I completed my Master’s in Literacy in August 2020.
I look forward to collaborating with you and your child to foster their reading growth and enthusiasm!
Sincerely,
Dawn C. Morris, MA, CALT
