Character - It's how you live life when no one is looking.

This is my 10th year here at World Compass Academy! For my first 8 years at WCA I was a first grade and kindergarten teacher. I am enjoying my 2nd year as a reading interventionist. I have taught various grade levels as well as having worked with students with dyslexia before joining WCA in its inaugural year.

I enjoy helping students become better readers and find books they are interested in reading! I earned my national certificate as a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) in 2009, working in a small group setting providing systematic instruction for students with the identification of dyslexia in grades 1-8. I am certified in MTA (Mulitsensory Teaching Approach) as well as the Take Flight curriculum through Scottish Rite Hospital. I am excited to add the BUILD curriculum certification through Scottish Rite to my "reading tools" to help students improve their reading skills. I completed my Masters in Literacy in August 2020!

I enjoy a good cup of coffee, Junior Mints, flavored seltzer water and of course READING :) My daughters are avid readers and are always introducing me to new books to read or sharing what they've learned from their reading.

I look forward to working with you and your child to help them improve their reading skills!

Sincerely,

Dawn C. Morris, MA, CALT
