Bio
Mrs. Ruirui D. Zhang
I grew up in central China Hunan Province and came to US Colorado in 1999 with my family. I graduated from Colorado Tech University with a master's degree in computer science in 2003. I have taught Mandarin in Sunday schools at CSCLS in Colorado Springs for 7 years, and the Joyful Chinese Cultural Center in Denver for 8 years. I have taught in DCS Sunday School for 7 years and participated in administrative work for two years. I have written articles for the publicity activities of DCS and have been rated as an excellent teacher for several times.
I have three kids. My daughter Shiyue is an AWS Solution Architect. Ryan will go to CSU for Engineering study this year and Evan is a 7th grader at WCA. We also have a cat Megatron and a turtle Tortilla.
I am glad to have met many wonderful families and students in the past four years. All of my students are eager to learn another culture and language and I am very joyful about getting along with them. We played games, shared stories, sang songs, danced, read sentences and poems, made crafts, and had so much fun! Many of my kiddos said, "Learning Mandarin is easy and fun." I like to hear that! I hope all Mandarin students enjoy the fun learning process with their interest, energy, enthusiasm, and challenges. In my class, students enjoy hearing the beauty of the language tones, discovering what they want, and continue practicing and learning. I hope they can use their language advantage to have more choices and also can achieve their goals later in their future life. Go anywhere, Do anything Cougars!
Tell me and I will forget,
Teach me and I will remember,
Involve me and I will learn.
