Bio

Mrs. Ruirui D. Zhang

I grew up in central of China Hunan Province and came to US Colorado in 1999 with my family. I graduated from Colorado Tech University with a master's degree in computer science in 2003. I have taught Mandarin in Sunday schools at CSCLS in Colorado Springs for 7 years, and the Joyful Chinese Cultural Center in Denver for 7 years, and have served as a long term sub at Colorado Academy and Denver Language School. I have taught in DCS Sunday school 6 years, and participated in administrative work for two years. I have written articles for the publicity activities of DCS and have been rated as an excellent teacher for several times.

I have three lovely children. My daughter Shiyue graduated in double major from CU Boulder and now she is an AWS Solution Architect. Ryan is a 12th grader at MVH and Evan is a 6th grader at WCA. We have a cat and a turtle.

I am lucky to be able to meet so many wonderful students who are eager to learn another culture and language and I am very joyful of getting along with them. We play games, share stories, sing songs, read books and poems, make crafts and more. I hope all Mandarin students enjoy the fun learning process with their interest, energy and challenge. I also hope they are able to feel the beauty of the language and discover what they really want, and later on use their language advantage to achieve their goals. Go cougars!

Teach me and I will remember,
Involve me and I will learn.
